How You Need to use Lily AI for Writing Assistance
Lily AI can help you write or edit in several different ways:
- Lily can Edit and Write based on text you've already written inside the Content editor
- Lily can Write new content from scratch based on a custom prompt, our preset templates, and/or your Content context.
Best Way to Get Started
Edit and Write Using Content inside the Content Editor
The best way to get started with Lily AI and Content Library is to first create a few Content articles in your Content Library about your organization:
- Organization Overview and Mission
- Program Overview - choose a specific program
Organize your content with tags or folders so you and your team can find things fast.
These become the general templates you and your team members use as the basis for any grant application.
Now, start using Lily inside the Content Editor by clicking Ask Lily and then choose a preset template. Lily then uses context from inside this specific Content doc to create what you need.

Example: Choose Enhance to improve and enhance your current narrative.

Every time Lily creates text, you can choose what you want to do:
Replace - Accept the entire text and Remove your previous text
Insert below - Inserts the text below your current text
Try again - Lily will write the text in a different way
Discard - Delete the text

Write New Content with Lily AI
You can create new content with Lily AI with custom prompts or prebuilt templates.
You can also attach reference materials from your Content Library to provide more context. When you attach reference content, Lily is able to better create your requested narrative.

Example: I chose the Custom prompt and entered 'Create a Sustainability overview'
Then I selected reference context from other Content in my Content Library - 'African Lion Habitat Project Description.' This will allow Lily to use information from the Project to create the Sustainability overview.

Important Reminders
Your content stays yours. Lily runs on Anthropic's Claude through their commercial API. What you send is used only to create the output you asked for, not to train an AI model.
Lily writes, but she doesn't have the final say. Review your draft and make sure it matches what you need, what your funder needs, and your organization.
Lily can make mistakes - verify data and details. Review before it goes to a funder — especially numbers, dates, and names.
Use it responsibly. Don't use Grant Frog's AI features to process data you don't have the right to use, to handle sensitive or regulated data, or to generate unlawful or harmful content.
AI Credits
You'll receive AI writing credits based on your chosen plan with the option to purchase more credits.
